Intern Data visualization for tracking project indicators
Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Department and IT Department

Are you passionate about continuous improvement, strategic recommendations, data processing recommendations, visualization and analysis, and making humanitarian aid future ready? Join ZOA’s MEAL and IT team and help shape how we visualize humanitarian project data for strategic decision making.

About ZOA

ZOA is an international relief and recovery organization working in 14 countries affected by conflict or fragility. We focus on sectors such as Food Security & Livelihoods, WASH, Peacebuilding, and Shelter, and work on strategic themes including Climate Resilience, Peace Nexus, Localization, and Gender, Diversity & Inclusion (GDI).

About the Internship

ZOA’s Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) team is looking for a motivated intern to support change management in working with data. For tracking project progress and impact ZOA country programs use indicators from the website zoa.indikit.net. ZOA would like to gain insight into which of these indicators are most used in ZOA projects and how labor-intensive current ways of data tracking are.  The goal of the internship is to research the current way of working and to provide recommendations for improving and optimizing the processes that precede data visualization. The final product will consist of concrete recommendations on how work processes can be enhanced so that, in the long term, data can be visualized more effectively, learning across country programs becomes possible through comparison, and data increasingly supports strategic decision making. This internship is ideal for someone interested in the intersection between IT, data science, and humanitarian programming and may be tailored as a master’s thesis project.
